The Prairie State Canoeists annual dinner is always an entertaining wrap-up of the season. We reminisce with our paddle partners, meet new friends, elect new officers and directors, and get some ideas for next season.

On the morning of June 1, 1980, Don Starkell and his two sons climbed aboard Orellana, their orange, custom 21-foot canoe and launched on the Red River from a park near their home in Winnipeg. Dana recounts the adventure.
